MAHLE Industriefiltration präsentiert auf der SMM 2010 eine neue Produktserie für die Meerwasserentsalzung bei maritimen Anwendungen.

Efficient drinking water treatment with the new MROS series from MAHLE
Safe and economical sea water desalination and drinking water treatment are a necessity on board commercial, passenger and cruise ships, megayachts, marine and research vessels, as well as on offshore platforms. MAHLE Industriefiltration has expanded its maritime product portfolio with the compact and efficient reverse osmosis systems from the MROS series. All standard units are designed as semi-automatic system and cover a performance range from 2 to 60 m³/day. Additionally customized systems up to 1000m³/h are available.

All units can be specially designed as fully automatic or explosion proof system according to MIL standard.

Reverse osmosis principle for maximum purity
Reverse osmosis is employed wherever water with the highest purity is required: Sea water is pressed through a synthetic, semi permeable reverse osmosis membrane using a high-pressure pump. The membrane allows only the water molecules to pass and efficiently strains contaminants in the incoming water.

For the MROS series, MAHLE uses plate/disk modules which due to their special hydro-dynamics significantly reduce so-called “fouling” and completely avoid “scaling”. The membrane cushion placed on the hydraulic disks consists of tissue between two membrane surfaces. The outer edges of the membrane surfaces are welded together whereby the controlled flow of the permeate towards the middle of the tension bolt is assured. The most simple, robust and reliable design of the disk modules as well as the high quality of the membrane are especially important for the water taste, the insensitivity against particles and the long lifetime of the system. The MROS series which was specially developed in varying sizes for maritime operations include excellent product quality, safe operation, low maintenance, and a good price-to-performance ratio, offering optimal user benefit.

The benefits of the MROS system

  • Environmentally-friendly and safe system without chemical pretreatment
  • Use of highly efficient, durable, and maintenance-friendly plate/disk modules
  • Increased service life of the RO membranes due to optional 2-stage prefiltration
  • Well-engineered, high product quality, reliable 24-hour continuous operation
  • Open stainless steel design for easy installation and optimized maintenance access
  • Compact, modular configuration with integrated prefilter, high-pressure pump, and control equipment
  • Quality “Made in Germany”
